Homeopathy

“It is more important to know what sort of person has a disease than to know what sort of disease a person has.”

What is homeopathy?

Homeopathy is a system of natural healthcare that has been used worldwide for over 250 years. It is part of the conventional health care system in many countries around the world, including England, France, Germany, India, Russia, and much of South America.

As a classical homeopath, my practice is guided by Samuel Hahnemann’s Organon of the Medical Art and James Tyler Kent’s Lectures on Homeopathic Philosophy.

How does homeopathy work?

Homeopathy is a profound method of healing that treats each person as a unique individual with the aim of stimulating their innate healing ability. A homeopath selects the most appropriate remedy based on the individual’s specific symptoms and personal level of health. As an energy medicine, homeopathy works to subtly shift energy on the physical, mental, and emotional planes simultaneously.

Why try homeopathy?

Homeopathic remedies are made from nature, are non-toxic, and complement conventional medicine.

It is good for safely treating a variety of conditions in people of all ages from newborns to the elderly.

Acute and chronic conditions are effectively treated by homeopathy. Acute conditions include colds and flu, and injuries that result in cuts, bruises and sprains. Common chronic conditions that respond well to homeopathy include allergies and asthma, arthritis, anxiety and depression, fatigue, and sleep disorders. Homeopathy is particularly effective for conditions that arise from stress or emotional trauma.

What to Expect: Initial Visit

As a colleague of mine says, “A homeopathic consultation is like talking to a good friend who truly wants to know how you are.”

In the first consultation, I will ask questions to better understand who you are as a unique individual. This will help me select a remedy that best corresponds to your state of health.

I will ask you to describe your condition in detail and how it affects you. I will also gather information about your current and past health issues and your family health history. Your personality, moods, and reactions to different situations, environments, or foods will also be considered as they reveal your particular needs with regard to health and well-being.

After the consultation, I will study and analyze the information in order to prescribe your remedy.

What to Expect: Follow-up Visits

Classical homeopathy administers one remedy at a time and gives it time to act fully. This is based on a key principle in homeopathy that the remedy should not be repeated until the healing reaction it has stimulated is completed.

People with long-standing problems are given one or very few doses at the outset of treatment. Experience has shown that if the remedy is chosen correctly, this is sufficient to cause a healing response in the body that normally lasts at least a month.

Consequently, follow-up visits are usually scheduled at about six- to eight-week intervals. The follow-up visits provide an opportunity to fully review any changes that occurred. This information guides the decision to repeat or change the remedy.
